Locations

Create storage locations and control whether their inventory can be sold or picked.

Use a to identify where inventory is stored. Choose a for fixed storage, an for movable storage, or a for picking. A groups similar storage for filtering and billing.

Creating Locations

Open ShipOS → Inventory → Locations (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab) and select the warehouse. Create an individual location, use Build Shelves for a repeated layout, or import a CSV.

Check the name, barcode, type, parent location, and pick priority before saving. Scan the location's label to review its stock on the warehouse floor.

Common Location Setups

Pickable and sellable: stock can supply standard picking and contribute to sale availability.
Non-pickable but sellable: overstock can be sold but must be moved or used through an eligible explicit-source workflow before fulfillment.
Non-sellable: stock is excluded from sale availability and must also be non-pickable.
Hospital: use for problem inventory requiring investigation, rather than treating every non-sellable location as a hospital.

Review the naming scheme before generating labels or building many locations.
